The ExplorerHAT has 4 each of digital inputs, outputs,LEDS and analogue ports together with 8 capacitive touch sensors and 2 bi-directional motor outputs.
It also exposes the other key GPIO pins including I2C and SPI so it can easily be expanded further if needed
An excellent addition is a little breadboard so that you can easily add your own LEDS/Switches or whatever you want very easily.
Note how the touch inputs latch to a 1 when they are activated – you need to reset them after each use.
Its a big shame the LEDs are not in the order needed to use it for Traffic Light simulations (my favourite pupil starter activity with LEDs) 🙁
A big shame 🙁
